OTHER INFO
McCann Cemetery is just across the Milam County line from Rogers (Bell County). We include it in our library since many people buried at this site are from Rogers and the cemetery was included in the West Bell County Genealogical Society Tombstone books. It is also noted that McCann was apparently in Bell County before the county line shifted at some point in the past. According to a Nov 2000 Temple Daily Telegram article, McCann Cemetery is 146 years old and is currently in a state of neglect.
NOV 2003 UPDATE from Byron Cloud: "The McCann Cemetery is now is a good state of repair. An association has been formed and meets once or twice a year to clean up the cemetery. All graves have been cataloged by a group from a local high school." (Byron is also in the process of sending us an updated inventory of the cemetery!)
JUNE 2007 UPDATE: Diane LaGrone is now the President of the McCann Cemetery Association.
